Our Commitment

Algonquin Granite’s commitment to the environment is our teams’ principal value. It is consistently top-of-mind for all staff throughout our quarrying, processing and delivery sectors.

The AG team quarries with a purpose. You will find excess materials and waste are at an all-time low, as we have found alternative solutions for discarded stone such as gravel and sand.

In order to reduce our carbon footprint through transportation, we maximize our loads to minimize logistics. Our processing plant is strategically placed centrally between all 5 quarries, to ensure close distance for trucking purposes to retrieve the stone.

Our wire saws use water for sawing and cooling material after it has been cut. At AG, we reclaim all water that has been used, filter it and re-use the water for future stone cutting.

The AG Team is proud to disclose that majority of the saws that can be found in our processing plant have been engineered by our staff members and built out of recycled materials and resources. This decreases the amount of greenhouse gases that would be produced, should we have ordered similar saws from an international supplier and required shipping and trucking. Rather than discarding wasted materials, we decided to put them to good use.

Lastly, should you decide to order natural stone with Algonquin Granite, you will be made aware that all skids that are delivered with your product are easily returnable. We gladly accept skids back to re-use for future projects.

Our Sustainable Process

The AG Team is equipped with the latest technologies and resources to provide you with the most unique cutting and finishing that will exceed your expectations. Our staff personally hand select stone from the Canadian Shield, that we believe will be most fitting for your project. See below how our sustainable process takes place step-by-step.

Our processing plant is strategically placed centrally between all 5 quarries, to ensure close distance for trucking purposes to retrieve the stone. Should the AG Team have multiple orders being delivered to the same area? We will ensure the trucking is grouped together as well.
